FutureFood

After a long hiatus, registrations numbered 90+ for our FutureFood-themed Hardware Meetup on 22nd June 2023. The event was held for the first time at Outset Ventures, a 5000 square meter laboratory and workshop space in Parnell and the largest hub for deep tech startups in Aotearoa.

The following speakers joined us for a fireside chat to discuss the future of food:

Russell Haines, Co-Founder of LILO

LILO is pioneering a snacking movement by taking fruit that might otherwise have ended up as waste, and transforming it into future-forward snacks. Working with local growers, LILO desserts including their plant-based cheesecakes are now stocked in supermarkets across New Zealand.

Mrinali Kumar, Co-Founder of EatKinda

EatKinda is a plant-based food start-up with the mission of helping the world eat differently. Their first product, cauliflower-based ice cream, has until recently been available nationwide at Hell Pizza stores prior to selling out. EatKinda uses cosmetically imperfect cauliflower where possible, and they aspire to be the most sustainable ice cream in the world.

Hamish Howard, COO of NewFish
